Ben Gaines

Chief Technology Officer

Ben Gaines is the Chief Technology Officer at Shadow Lake Partners. Ben leads all aspects of the firm’s use of data, technology, and information, to include technology due diligence and the use of technology in value creation within the firm’s investments. Ben’s 20+ year career began in the Marine Corps and has since spanned business leadership and technology.

Prior to his role at Shadow Lake, Ben served at Bank of America and Capgemini Consulting. At Bank of America, Ben was a Senior Vice President at the bank’s Data Controls and Mapping Operations team. In this role, Ben developed tools to identify insights, relationships, and instances of potential data corruption from petabytes of network data. At Capgemini, Ben served as a senior consultant in the firm’s Financial Services team. In this role, he advised numerous international banks on the development and implementation of digital strategies.

Before his career in tech, Ben served as an officer in the Marine Corps (he is still in the reserves). As a Marine Officer, Ben led Marine and Marine Special Operations Raider teams on numerous deployments throughout the Middle East and Africa. Ben graduated from the University of Kentucky with a B.A. in Economics and French and earned an MBA from the NYU Stern School of Business, wherein he specialized in data modeling.
